Transponder batteries should last between 2-4 years depending on how frequently they are used to access the gate and/or if your vehicle is frequently located where other systems are attempting to read your transponder. There are two batteries in each transponder and they can usually be found at any hardware store. Be sure to remove one battery at a time and replace it before removing the second battery in order to preserve the programming of the transponder. If the batteries are replaced incorrectly and they lose their programming they will need to be replaced at the homeowner’s expense.
